"I think in order to be a great coach you need to be an expert and it was obvious during our conversation that you are both"
Denise Marek,
Host of First Take Live
(CHEX TV)

Before we started coaching, we weren’t sure how to talk about the issues we were facing. Rob’s easy going manner created a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. We were able to open up and, with Rob’s help, work towards achieving happiness and harmony in our blended family. Although issues still arise, we are now better prepared to handle them. Rob’s expertise, support and encouragement are priceless!”
— Bob and Cherilyn G.
Hamilton, ON

"Wow!! What a great coach you are! With just a few well-asked questions, Rob not only helped me to define my "fear" about making a leap, he also helped me define possibilities that I feel truly excited about but had never identified before!! Now that I have something to focus on, it doesn't seem so overwhelming anymore. In just one session, Rob helped me answer one of the nagging questions in my life. I'm really looking forward to our continued working relationship."

Simplifying your life is an excellent pursuit, regardless of the state or status of your family life. By removing the trivial items that eat up your day (and finances), you will come to realize new levels of freedom—more time, money, and peace-of-mind.

Simplification goes beyond just reducing the number of material possessions you own. It is a philosophy. It's about uncomplicating your life—not just your closet.

Here are some tips to ponder as you re-assess and begin to simplify the many aspects of your life ...

Possessions ...

The two-year rule. If you have not used something in two years, throw it out, or give it away. Old clothes, things in boxes in the basement, old toys, products you purchased from a late-night infomercial—if you haven't used them, say good-bye. Closets and basements are a great place to begin. The only exception to this rule may be fitness equipment. My advice here is, use! Then you won't be breaking the rule ... :)

How many is enough? Consider donating your extra belongings to charity or a shelter—potentially helping needy single-parent families who may not be as fortunate as yourself. Books, clothes, appliances, toys—all these things often come in numbers, and can add to the general sense of clutter in our lives.

Body, mind & spirit

Getting back to basics. What is really important in your life? What do you really need to be happy and healthy? How much could you save if your down-sized some of the luxury items you may have in your life? What else could you do with the money?

Simple pleasures. Re-discover the simple things in life, like taking walks, picnics, simple yet delicious food, reading, visiting with friends, spending time with your family and kids.

Unplug yourself. Try turning off the television computer. or your cell phone. This will allow you time for other activities, and help to quiet your surroundings.

Seek silence. All day you are bombarded with sound: appliances, TV, radio, talking, traffic, and much more. Silence, in our fast-paced society, is quickly becoming an endangered species. Find moments in your day to silence the world around you—allowing you to be alone with your thoughts.

Meditate. Popular in may cultures, meditation is reputed to have many positive qualities. Some of the many benefits include reducing stress, improving memory, eliminating fatigue, and cultivating a general sense of peace.

Determine what's truly important in your life

Words To Live By:

Our life is frittered away
by detail...
Simplify, SIMPLIFY.
- Thoreau

Out of clutter,
find Simplicity.
From discord,
find Harmony.
In the middle of difficulty lies Opportunity.
